Scarborough and District Canoe Club
Getting started with the club
For beginners the club holds “come and try it” pool sessions and training sessions at Bramcote school in the winter (mid September to mid April, fortnightly) and coaching sessions at Wykeham lakes in the summer (May to July). At these sessions novices are coached through the basics of paddling, rolling and various safety and rescue procedures. The basic requirements for these sessions are the ability to swim and appropriate clothing (swimming costume and t-shirt for the pool, wet suit and shoes for the lakes). All other equipment will be supplied.
